Who Would be Interested in Public Health?

Students interested in:

• Obtaining a rewarding job in which you gain satisfaction knowing that you are working to improve the lives of others in local, national, and international communities
• Improving people's health and well-being by confronting complex health issues such as improving access to health care, controlling infectious diseases, violence, substance abuse, and injury. Focus is on education and the prevention side of health care
• Working in a diverse and dynamic field that provides public health services to individuals from all age groups, in multiple settings, and affords the opportunity to work with professionals from myriad other disciplines such as sociology, psychology, anthropology, biology, chemistry, communication, mathematics, business, nursing, occupational science, social work, political science, and government
• Planning and implementing programs and events that address current and future health issues

Students may select either Public Health option as their major upon applying to the university.
