Pre-Professional Studies

Pre-professional students are defined as one who intends to apply to a professional graduate school after he/she completes his/her undergraduate degree or post-baccalaureate coursework. Professional graduate schools train students to become licensed in one of the following professions: law, medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, veterinary medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, optometry, and physician assistant studies.

EKU has a variety of majors that allow students to obtain the basic prerequisite courses for a majority of professional schools. However, pre-professional students may choose any major that he/she is interested in and that may serve as a fulfilling back-up career plan if needed. Advising support for EKU's pre-professional students takes place in each student's home department. To learn more about EKU's advising support and specific majors for pre-professional students visit the Pre-Professional Advising web site at: preprofessional.eku.edu.
