Who Would be Interested in a B.S. Chemistry?
If any of the following apply to you, you should explore a career in chemistry:
- Are you fascinated by advances in technology?
- Do you want to understand natural phenomena at both the micro- and macro-scale?
- Do you have an interest in exploring the specific interactions of atoms or molecules?
- Would you like to work with state-of-the-art instrumentation analyzing chemical samples?
- Are you concerned with finding scientific solutions to address many societal issues?
Why a B.S. Chemistry?
- All program options are certified by American Chemical Society (ACS).
- The Biochemistry option follows the recommendations from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB).
- We provide the opportunity to perform independent chemical research with faculty mentors (allowing possible travel to professional conferences and/or publication of results).
- Our degree gives you a strong chemistry foundation for placement in industry or acceptance to future graduate or professional institutions.
- You can combine the B.S. Chemistry degree with the M.S. Chemistry degree in just one extra year.
- Chemistry graduate degree holders enjoy a 2.4% rate of unemployment.
What Are the Requirements to be Admitted to the Program?
- Students may select any of the B.S. Chemistry options upon applying to the university.
- Students who have a good high school background in math are prepared to do well in this program.
- An interest in science and learning are critical to success in this program.
Where Are Recent Graduates Employed?
- Chemistry Graduate Programs such as Vanderbilt, Purdue, Ohio State, and many more!
- Toxicologist, Eli Lilly and Company, Indianapolis, IN
